Heckling while training is something, as a triathlete, you tend to get used to quite quickly. After all, there aren’t many sports where pointy bike helmets and neon calf guards are quite so ubiquitous. Recently though, I’ve been training for the upcoming UK ÖtillÖ swimrun which has meant running about in a squelchy wetsuit and waterlogged trail shoes (and swimming in both these things, as well), which is proving something of an acquired taste to say the least... Interestingly though, this hasn’t led to any heckling at all – the most I seem to get from bystanders is a kind of slack-jawed astonishment!
