According to Steve Jobs, "Good artists copy; great artists steal." If that's the case, Apple is either filled with good or great artists, yet no one can decide which. The company who made a lot of money suing Samsung for copying their phone design has been accused of copying the design for their iPad Clock app directly from Switzerland's Federal Railways. Apple finally updated the iPad apps to include a Clock app similar to the one the iPhone uses. Shortly after the iOS 6 update, they were accused of ripping the design from the Swiss company. In a nation where the economy is in a shambles and people are worried about every expense - and frankly the future of their lives - getting their vote heard is a spectacular feat. Earlier this year, Apple told some employees about a new initiative called "Blue Sky" that allows a small group of staffers to spend a few weeks on a pet engineering project, according to three people when asked about the program. It is a more limited version of similar initiatives for hatching new ideas that have long existed in Silicon Valley. The most wellknown of those is Google's "20% time," which allows employees to spend up to a fifth of their time on projects outside their normal responsibilities. According to the Chinese-language newspaper Commercial Times, Apple will begin trial production of the i Phone 5S, as it's being called, in December. The initial production count will be between 50,000 to 100,000 units, and with a December trial we could see a launch before Fall 2013, which is when Apple typically likes to release new versions of their smartphone. "Facing low yield rates in the production of iPhone 5, Apple has accelerated the certification processes for related parts and components for the iPhone 5S," the paper revealed. TAIPEI, Taiwan -Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. has settled with Apple Inc. on their outstanding patent disputes. In a joint statement Sunday, the two companies said they also signed a 10-year license agreement that will extend to current and future patents held by one other. Apple and HTC have battled over patents for various smartphone features since March 2010, with the Cupertinobased firm accusing HTC phones that run on Google's Android software of infringing on its patents. HTC chief executive Peter Chou says ending the litigation will allow his company to focus more on product innovation. This is a great example for all companies involved in patent disputes; consumers want new innovative products and tech companies need to shift focus back to research and development. It hasn't been that long since we've seen a new Angry Birds title, in fact, we saw the Angry Birds Space release earlier this year. The iconic developer Rovio has been hard at work lately, cranking out hit after hit and then filling each consecutive release with a ton of free content updates. We're even seeing new and fresh add-ons for the original Angry Birds release, and developers manage to crank out new levels for Angry Birds Seasons whenever we have a major holiday. Android will finally knock the iPad off its throne next year, according to at least one analyst. Apple's iPad has remained king of the tablet market for the past few years but Android tablets have been tearing at the crown. For the third quarter of 2010, the iPad enjoyed an 87 percent cut of the market, according to IDC. For this year's third quarter, that number had fallen to just 50.4 percent. "That trend will continue as the share collectively owned by Android tablets surpasses that of the iPad in the first half of next year, says Sameer Singh, an analyst with mergers and acquisitions consulting group Finvista Advisors.” Looking at the market trends, Singh found that growth in Android tablet shipments outpaced that of the iPad in six out…

According to Applelnsider, On Tuesday morning many of their readers began receiving shipment notifications for their iPad mini with cellular data. The notifications have arrival dates noted for delivery on Friday, Nov. 16. Customers have begun receiving word that the black and slate as well as the white and silver colors of the iPad mini are on their way. The report also indicated that this included all three tiers of memory space (16GB/32GB/64GB) as well as both color options. The US mobile data market grew 3% quarter-over-quarter (Q/Q) and 17% yearover-year (Y/Y) to reach US$19.9 billion in the third quarter of 2012, according to a report published Monday by Chetan Sharma, an independent mobile analyst group. A few weeks ago, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) announced their fiscal year 2012 fourth quarter financial results to somewhat mixed reactions from Wall Street analysts. Reporting a quarterly net profit of $8.2 billion on revenues of $36 billion ($8.67 per diluted share), the Cupertino firm narrowly missed financial forecasters’ target expectation of $8.3 billion of net profit ($8.75 per share).
