Melbourne University Publishing Bruno Leti: painter, draughtsman, printmaker, photographer, and publisher of artist books. The Melbournebased artist creates semiabstract works with a restrained use of colour and balanced composition, yet chaotic undertones disrupt their simplicity. Undertones surprisingly not found in the works themselves but in all his works, collectively, in a series. This book culminates sixty years of work, laying bare a life of art. Composed by both Leti and editor Thomas Middlemost, with contributions from Sasha Grishin, Chris Wallace-Crabb and more, it is a study of Leti’s artistic process, describing the inspirations for different series and laying out many of the artist’s works across time.
