This pot is packed with early-flowering plants that provide pollinators easy access to nectar and pollen. Put out your bee hotels If you have kept your bee hotel in the shed over winter to prevent attack from birds, now’s the time to put it back up. Check for splinters and rotting wood, and remove cobwebs and spiders. Also consider replacing bamboo canes in your bee hotel, but hold onto the old ones as they have this year’s bees in them. Store them under cover, such as beneath an upturned plant pot with a drainage hole, so they’re protected from rain but can still fly out when they wake up.
