Cashen Assumes the Reins
ABS master smith Kevin Cashen’s term as the new chairman of the American Bladesmith Society officially began with the ABS annual meeting at BLADE Show 2024.
Cashen was elected in a vote of the ABS board of directors this past winter. In his Matherton Forge in Hubbardston, Michigan, he forges a wide range of knives and swords, including daggers, hunters, bowies, fighters, camp knives, kitchen knives and more, including period pieces and those of damascus. He has been an ABS-approved instructor for over 20 years and has taught classes ranging from intro to bladesmithing for beginners to blade metallurgy for master instructors at such venues as local events, international symposiums, and colleges and universities.
Kevin succeeds ABS master smith Steve Dunn, who passed away May 21.…
