Canal Walk loo thieves pretend to fall before robbing 7 victims Shoppers have been warned of thieves waiting to catch their prey as they walk into the toilets of one of the biggest malls in the city. The Milnerton Community Policing Forum (CPF) issued a statement on Facebook about seven robberies which took place in Canal Walk. They asked for people to be vigilant when visiting the mall. They said that on Friday, a victim reportedly left his group of friends, and as he was about to go into the toilet a suspect pretended to fall and then robbed the young man. The Sekunjalo group of companies has expressed shock at a judgment handed down by the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA), which set aside an interim interdict preventing Nedbank from closing the group’s bank accounts, and reopening those already closed. The interdict had been handed down by the Equality Court against Nedbank Limited and Nedbank Private Wealth Stockbrokers (Pty) Ltd, prohibiting them from terminating the bank accounts held by Sekunjalo chairman Dr Iqbal Survé and 42 associated companies. The interim order had effect pending the finalisation of proceedings in the Equality Court, arising from a complaint of unfair racial discrimination lodged by Sekunjalo against Nedbank. Police are investigating an attack on an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulance after paramedics were stoned while attending to an incident in Westlake on Sunday. I AM devastated and heartbroken that poor road networks are causing horrific accidents in Zimbabwe. It is shocking and unimaginable that 33 people perished because of road accidents in less than 24 hours. In Zimbabwe accidents occur every 15 minutes. The transport system is dysfunctional and needs urgent attention. The system faces numerous issues, including roads with potholes, unmarked roads, traffic lights not working, poor or no road signage, unroadworthy vehicles, unlicensed drivers and corruption among traffic police officers. The failure of President Emmerson Mnangagwa to solve dysfunctional transport systems in Zimbabwe proves that he is not fit to be governing Zimbabwe.
