CHAOS broke out at a taxi rank in Mitchells Plain on Wednesday after a teenage boy was stabbed to death, allegedly by a taxi driver who accused him of stealing a cell phone. Fifteen-year-old Nathaniel Daniels was stabbed multiple times in his upper body after being suspected of theft from a taxi he washed near the 7th Avenue taxi rank. THE Bellville Community Policing Forum (CPF) has warned of a spate of water meter thefts in the area. Boston, Oakdale and several surrounding areas have been plagued by the problem over the past few months. CPF chairperson Emre Uygun said the theft of water meters caused damage to infrastructure in the areas. “When residents come home after their water meter has been stolen, an entire road is flooded with water. It is causing a lot of issues,” he said. Uygun said the water meters were being stolen for their copper content. “It is not actually the water meter. There is copper inside. A GRIEVING mother has recounted her daughter and granddaughter’s murder at the hands of a police officer boyfriend, who then turned his service pistol on himself. Abona Magaba, 27, and one-year-old Lihlume, were shot and killed in their Samora Machel home by Thembelani Lamani on Wednesday evening. According to police, Lamani, based at Faure in Stellenbosch, used his service pistol. The couple had been together for about three years when Magaba broke up with the officer over the Easter weekend. THREE months after being released from prison, convicted killer Oscar Pistorius is sweeping church floors as voluntary work. Pistorius was convicted for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day in 2013. He was sentenced the following year to 13 years behind bars. During court proceedings, Pistorius said he had heard a noise in the night in the bathroom and believed Steenkamp was an intruder, opening fire through the door and killing her.
