FORMER EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu has hit back at his former president and confidant Julius Malema after the uMkhonto weSizwe Party (MKP) leadership announced the former Red Beret in their top eight structure yesterday. STATISTICS SA (Stats SA) has admitted that some of the data contained in the 2022 Census is not accurate, as it planned to re-release the document at the end of the month. It further announced this week that data in the census that was scheduled for release later this month would no longer be published, based on a quality evaluation done by subject matter specialists. The data includes: Income and earnings. Labour and employment. Mortality and fertility. The statistical body said that Census 2022 met data collection standards despite a 30% undercount, anomalies in some results, and criticism from independent demographers. She said her dad, aged 85, died after a short battle with cancer, at home in Perth, Australia. CONSUMERS can breathe a sigh of relief as the Consumer Price Index (CPI) noted that headline inflation eased to 4.6% year-on-year, down from 5.1% in June, but does this bode well for an interest rate cut? Statistics South Africa (StatsSA) said the drop marked the lowest inflation rate in three years, matching the annual 4.6% rate recorded in July 2021.
