THE City of Cape Town has welcomed a property boost to Sea Point, which saw the launch of Mont Reve, a new mixed-use development that generated over R500 million in sales within 24 hours. Situated along Regent Road, the development is estimated to provide 130 000 jobs. This, while the residents’ association said the development could exacerbate existing traffic congestion and infrastructure challenges. At the online sales launch held on March 26, 94 apartments were released, with 89 sold on day one. The highest-priced unit sold for R23.995m. The trial has struggled to resume following the untimely death of defence advocate Thulani Mngomezulu. IN A 52-page judgment, the Western Cape High Court has ruled that no houses may be built along the Botmaskop mountain slopes in Stellenbosch until the environmental authorisation for a planned 77-unit estate has been reviewed. Judge Melanie Holderness said the court was tasked with determining whether an interim interdict should be granted to preserve the status of the Botmaskop Fynbos Estate, a 77-unit development located on the slopes of the scenic Botmaskop mountain above Helshoogte at Portion 2 of Farm Amoi No 490, Stellenbosch. I was honestly worried about Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu’s injury situation earlier this season. He just didn’t seem like he could put a few matches together before breaking down. Drones are assisting the Border Management Authority (BMA) in tackling illegal migration and the identification of facilitators leading illegal immigrants into South Africa. BMA commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato emphasised the importance of deploying drones which have assisted them in enhancing the effectiveness of their operations. Several parents and concerned residents staged a protest outside the school yesterday, calling for the removal of the teacher. Provincial education department spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi, said the matter was reported to the principal on April 5. Officials and committee members conducted visits of various facilities at the prison including kitchens, workshops, juvenile holding cells and the clinics and pharmacies. ROAD deaths declined from 26 last Easter to 22 this year, with a further 23 fatal shootings, six confirmed suicides and one drowning. The latest and final data provided by the Western Cape Government shows a total of 22 fatal crashes between April 17 and April 21. The fatalities were 14 pedestrians, five passengers, two drivers and one motorcyclist The Western Cape Mobility Department’s Provincial Traffic Services conducted 784 integrated operations across the province during this period, including roadblocks, vehicle check points and speed control operations.
