PATRIOTIC Alliance (PA) leader, Gayton McKenzie, has suspended his deputy, Kenny Kunene, from the party pending an investigation into his presence at the Sandton home of a businessman, Katiso “KT” Molefe, a suspect in the murder of DJ Sumbody. THE soup kitchen at CL Wilmot Primary School in Uitsig was targeted by criminals over the school holidays, leaving the learners without a warm meal this week. The thieves stole the rice, tinned fish, chicken livers, pots, the school’s urn as well as electric cables and equipment, forcing the school to serve the learners sandwiches in place of a hot meal. Community activist and Early Crime Prevention facilitator at the school, Pastor Adam Alexander, said the criminals stole all the ingredients meant for the feeding scheme. “We are very disappointed. “These criminals did great damage to the school and stole food from the children's mouths. NATIONAL Coloured Congress leader Fadiel Adams issued an apology on Tuesday to the National Assembly for the derogatory, racist and vulgar language he used against a woman in a social media video rant. A MED-Lemon advertisement depicting a graphic sneeze with mucus flying all over other people has sparked two complaints before the Advertising Regulatory Board (ARB), but the ARB found that although it skates the fine line between “gross” and “offensive,” it does not breach the advertising standards code. One of the complaints before the board stated: “The ad is very disgusting and disturbing to watch. THE attorney for murder-accused Tiffany Meek attempted to poke holes in the State’s case during the fourth day of the bail application, which is being heard in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court. Meek, 31, from Fleurhof, is accused of killing her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek. In addition to murder, she also faces charges of crimen injuria, attempting to defeat or obstruct the course of justice, and defeating or obstructing the administration of justice. Tiffany was arrested on July 11 at her mother’s home. Her son was reported missing on May 13 and his body was found a few hours later near his home. The petition demands accountability, calling for action to restore and protect Table Mountain, and has garnered more than 5 800 signatures. Driven by Friends of Table Mountain and supported by Take Back Our Mountains, Love Our Trails, Table Mountain Watch, Table Mountain Bikers and Hikers Network, the campaign claims that TMNP suffers from critical issues directly linked to SANParks's poor management and underfunding.
