NOW-A-DAYS NOT MANY LUXURY car manufacturers are willing to give out cars for long-term testing. Most such luxury cars are allowed out for a short-term test with temporary registration number-plates or trade plates; the obvious reason being the prohibitive road tax and registration charges. The model’s name, “Slavia”, refers to the beginnings of the Škoda firm. The company’s founders, Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, began selling bicycles of their own design under this brand in 1896 and the name was later used on the company’s first motorcycles.
