3 ways to... avoid the latest message scams Fake texts are the latest ways fraudsters are trying to part us from our cash. 1 Identity fraud texts Watch out for text messages claiming you’ve been targeted by identity fraudsters trying to take out a loan in your name. In March this year, Wilber Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, 23, was found guilty of the four murders. Guzman, who’d worked for all three households as a landscape gardener, had crumbled under investigation months earlier, admitting to the murders to avoid the death penalty.
