Makes: 12 Prep: 10 min Cook: 30 min 50p per serving 1kg Pink Lady apples 40g sugar 150g butter 70ml golden syrup 200g oats Pinch of salt Pinch of ground ginger 1 Preheat oven to 180/ Gas 4 and butter a 20cm round cake tin. 2 Peel, core and grate the apples into a saucepan, add the sugar, cover and simmer over a low heat until soft, about 10 min. 3 Add butter and golden syrup and bring back up to a gentle simmer. 4 Fold in the oats, salt and ginger until thoroughly mixed. 5 Pour mixture into tin and bake 30 min.
