Despite the clamour for fuel causing mayhem in the local district and beyond, Historics’ latest classic sale at Ascot Racecourse on September 25 was still met by a full auction hall and some 1000 visitors across all three viewing days. Pleasingly, the relaxed atmosphere was in complete contrast to many a frenzied garage forecourt, with 165 varied entries for visitors to witness.
In any case, the need for petrol won’t be pressing for some of the lots, as restoration projects proved to be exceptionally strong performers.
