Chris Wakefield is a certified petrol head, having loved all things fast and loud for all of his 44 years. “My Dad, John, was a Ford man, having Escorts, Cortinas and Sierras throughout my childhood,” Chris remembers fondly. “He’s only recently stopped riding motorbikes, selling his last Fireblade at the age of 75!” Not surprisingly, Chris has owned literally hundreds of cars over the years, starting his automotive journey with a Vauxhall Nova Sport, but joining the Ford fray early doors. “I bought a Series 1 RS Turbo at 18,” Chris reminisces. “At the time, it was my dream Ford; a stunning example, I loved the looks and performance, and the fact that it was a non-Custom made it special. It was a real achievement at that age.”
