Casey Jarvis joined an elite list when he was crowned AmateurGolf.com Men’s Player of the Year. With the likes of Justin Thomas, Bryson DeChambeau, Viktor Hovland, Patrick Cantlay and Danny Lee among the recent winners, 17-year-old Jarvis is certainly in good company.
In a year disrupted by Covid-19, Jarvis claimed the SA Amateur and SA Stroke Play Championships in successive weeks in February, to go with the Free State and Gauteng North Opens from earlier in the year. In December, Jarvis won the Freddie Tait Cup as the best-placed amateur at the South African Open, as he finished in a tie for 25th against European and Sunshine Tour professionals.
