reTune’s grid system allows for all manner of creative custom transpositions. For example, you can transpose the whole input signal to a single note, or invert the scale of a track (in C major, C becomes B, D becomes A, etc) so that ascending patterns turn into descending patterns – combine this with the Dry/Wet mix control and you have a fun live performance tool.
DJs, meanwhile, will get plenty of mileage out of switching the output scale in order to transform well-known tracks. Major, Minor, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Harmonic, Gypsy I, Gypsy II and Chromatic are available, and running songs through the Gypsy modes, for example, throws in some unexpected transpositions, bringing a sinister vibe to proceedings.
