Workaday Kidderminster, near the built-up West Midlands and surrounded by busy roads, still offers some very inviting rides with carefully-chosen quiet lanes. The little-known Clee Hills to the west are a local cyclists’ secret, while canal towpaths and rail trails can smooth your passage out to quirky sandstone curios. The Severn valley, with its heritage railway, has some grand views too.

Day of easy climbs, easy downhills, gentle scenery, interesting villages and historic towns (Bewdley, Stourport), local secret the Clee Hills, and a glimpse of the Severn Valley. Last third almost all downhill with good views.
