In their bid to enhance road safety, the Road Traffic Inspectorate (RTI) maintained their focus on combating drunk driving throughout KwaZulu-Natal. The RTI’s latest operation resulted in the arrest of 226 motorists, in the areas of Esikhawini, Empangeni, and Richards Bay, which highlighted the inspectorate’s ongoing efforts to install law and order, especially with the holiday season nearing. The Gumede family laid to rest six of their beloved members yesterday, all victims of a motor vehicle accident on the Scottburgh N2, a week ago. In total, the collision claimed eight lives. POLICE have launched an investigation after four people were found burnt to death inside two cars in the Umatata area in Inanda, Durban. KwaZulu-Natal provincial police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said the victims were found on Saturday, November 15, 2025. “Police responded to reports of two vehicles that were burnt, and ound one body burnt beyond recognition in a Nissan NP200 bakkie, and three other others in a Toyota Rumion. They were also burnt beyond recognition,” said Netshiunda. He said that police also found three cattle carcasses near the Nissan. Netshiunda said the motive the killings could be related to stock theft, the process of identifying the victims was underway and a search for the suspects was ongoing. The story of serial killer Aileen Wuornos is well known, especially to South African audiences as Charlize Theron played her in the 2003 movie Monster, but that Hollywood production failed to mention one crucial detail which was revealed in the Netflix documentary Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers.
