THE Cape Malay Choir Board (CMCB) season reaches its climax next week with the Grand Finale to be held at Athlone Stadium on Saturday, 29 November 2025. The coveted 1m tall Silver Fez, fondly referred to as the Koefieyah, the trophy that will crown the ultimate champions for the 2025 season, will be up for grabs. Poaching This comes as police continue to uncover multi- million-rand poaching networks along the Western Cape’s coastline. Last Friday, Operation Lockdown III and the Endangered Species K9 Unit uncovered 6 400 units of abalone worth an estimated R3.52 million in a drying facility in Primrose Park, Western Cape. A Chinese man and a Malawian man were arrested and appeared in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
