1 GANGBUSTER Breaking up the posse of steel and glass condos on Toronto’s skyline takes a visionary. Luckily, Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang is here with her first Toronto high-rise near Yonge and St. Clair – and it looks nothing like the status quo. For starters, One Delisle has serious views. Nested eight-storey elements composed of sheltered balconies with generous terraces set atop them snake up the building, looking almost like the scales of a pinecone. From the street, pedestrians will appreciate the cylindrical tower’s angled geometry, as well as its negligible shadow, landscaped sidewalks and small-scale retail stores.
