Enthusiasts from across the country converged at this iconic venue, bringing together a vibrant mix of lifted, lowered, and high-performance diesel trucks. As the engines roared and the smell of diesel filled the air, it was clear that this event was going to be a memorable one. Today is a special day in the life of project “Stock to Not!” The tires we have been running on this build have been on for about 15,000 miles and are still in pretty good shape to say the least. But they haven’t been the best-riding tire or doing great in the street traction department. Long story short, they’ve served their purpose and will be laid to rest in the form of a big smokey burnout. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Toyo Tires to get this build looking, riding, and putting power to the ground MUCH better. One thing we aren’t changing is the 275/40/20 size. In a world of sometimes confusing and very limiting air quality regulations, research becomes paramount when looking to push the limits of your rig while retaining factory emission systems. Sure, you could fight the powers that be by tearing out key ECS (emission control system) components, but as satisfying as it is to do exactly what you want with your truck, it’ll come back to haunt you when it comes time for smog inspection. Instead of raging against the machine, however, wouldn’t it make more sense to somehow work more closely with it in order to reach those desired power gains?
