Graham Jarvis is known as one of the best enduro riders in the world and a fifth Red Bull Romaniacs title has once again put him at the top of the sport. The 13th running of the iconic race saw riders travel 654 gruelling kilometres across four days of action. With a mix of terrain and conditions adding to the difficulty of the world’s toughest hard enduro rally, riders were well and truly pushed to their limits. You have to consider things like oncoming traffic (especially if you get it wrong), the surface, your tyres and the surrounding terrain. Motorcycle industry icon Jeff Emig will join Husqvarna as a spokesperson supporting the brand’s initiatives, projects and products. The champion racer will bring with him a broad range of experience and a desire for success. Emig’s role will involve engaging the Husqvarna brand with the newly established Unites States Motorcycling Coaching Association (USMCA). Conquering rocky sections of trail requires confidence — and confidence comes from practising the right technique until it becomes comfortable. That’s what this is all about. That gnarly rock section you’re staring at down the trail isn’t quite as hard to deal with as you might think. CONSTANTLY SCAN Vision is the first piece of the puzzle. It’s important to be looking ahead, scanning the terrain. This will allow you to spot the rock section as early as possible, which gives you more time to pick a line and prepare for it. 1. HEAD FORWARD Keep your head forward over the handlebars so you can stay in the correct position when accelerating off the turn. It’s easy to fall back on the bike so make sure you avoid doing that. 2. LEGS Grip the bike with your legs to take pressure off your hands and arms. Your legs should be just slightly bent; avoid getting into a squat position. This is a huge one for managing fatigue — it’s easy to forget to use your legs. 3.
