Any attempt to deal with a log of this size at an angle will end in tears, especially when it's wet and slippery like this example. That feeling when you can no longer hang onto the bars, you can't reach for your levers and you're a few corners away from a whiskey throttle off the back. Yep, that's arm pump! BUT WHAT IS ARM PUMP? WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT? To keep it simple, arm pump results from the forearm muscles producing a high amount of lactic acid during intense exercise via swelling. The build-up then blocks blood from entering the muscles with fresh oxygen and makes it difficult for blood to pass back out, affecting our ability to hold on and use our controls. MOTO MANUAL HOW TO BIKE SETUP Grass-track, Amcross or natural-terrain racing rarely features any jumps. So as a general rule, your suspension setup is softer and plusher than a standard motocross setting. You will be served up with some decent acceleration and braking bumps at most circuits, so it's important to have you settings dialled. Your rebound adjustment and settings come into play here, so chat with your suspension tuner to get some tips to keep your bike handling as well as possible.
