Iconic Auctioneers is the new name for Silverstone Auctions, the specialist auction house for the sale of classic, competition, modern and collectors’ cars. This year’s auction was rich in Ford vehicles with 15 competition and 16 collector examples on offer. The highest value competition car sold was a 1989 ex-Andy Rouse RS500 BTCC race car for £370,000. An ex-McRae family 2005 Escort Mk2 rally car followed at £175,000. Within the collector car section, two restored Bodie and Doyle Professionals TV 1980 Capri 3.0 S, one silver, the other gold, went as a pair for £186,000. These were bettered in the Fords only by a one-owner, 350bhp, 6,180 miles, 1987 RS200 Tickford at £253,000.…
