FC Tokyo were quite late to the mascot game, steadfastly refusing to join the bizarre world of men dressed up as animals for 10 years after they joined the J-League in 1999. To make up for lost time, the club quickly set about creating one of the world’s most giddy mascots in 2009 – Tokyo Dorompa, a Japanese raccoon dog complete with a bow tie and an appetite for weird antics.
