Australia’s No.1 ranked female amateur, Kirsten Rudgeley, has been invited to play in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur next month.
The 21-year-old West Australian will join the field, competing alongside 39 of the world’s top-40, including 18-year-old, Rose Zhang, and fellow American, Emilia Migliaccio, who lost in a play-off for this title last year.
Rudgeley, who becomes the third Australian woman behind Julienne Soo and Grace Kim to compete at Augusta, said she was excited to play one of the world’s most famous golf courses in the Amateur starting on March 30.
“It felt amazing, I had an idea a couple of months ago that I was going to make it, but it all depends on your world ranking,” she told The West Australian newspaper.
