Every June, Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, R.I., hosts the Northeast Amateur Invitational, an event that brings future stars to our small town. Many club members invite players to stay at their homes for the week. In 2006, with four children from 5 to 14, my mom was a little nervous about having college kids stay with us.
