At the par-5 16th hole at Shadow Creek GC, Wolff’s second shot found trouble in some thick rough just short of the green. Unable to find his ball, Wolff, along with his playing partners and their caddies, began searching. After a short time (comfortably within the permitted three minutes), Hatton’s caddie, Michael Donaghy, stepped on a ball, which was identified by Wolff as being his.
