I’m a big advocate for reusing, recycling and composting but when it comes to our emotional waste – we need to get that sh*t straight to the landfill. Our subconscious mind stores the memory of every experience we’ve ever had. The hard truth is that mental health issues are impacting many of us. More than 600,000 New Zealanders will be diagnosed with a common mental health disorder, such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder, at some point in their life. Many companies have a sustainability focus and achieve great things for New Zealand. But equally there are companies that do harm. It may be social harm – there are more than a hundred exploitive employers on the Labour Inspectorate’s ‘blacklist’ for breaching minimum employment standards.
