BEAR HUNTING has been a fascination of mine since childhood. It began when I learned that bear hunting came with a measure of danger since bears can be especially aggressive in the spring when they first come out of the den. And old boars can develop an attitude while losing their fear of humans. Last winter, I got a phone call asking me if I’d like to go on a black bear hunt in British Columbia. WEBLEY & SCOTT MK I Q: I submit for your perusal what one might determine to be the most robust military handgun of all time. Your thoughts and evaluation on such a formidable British firearm are of great interest to me. The markings read in all caps, “WEBLEY & SCOTT Ltd” over “PISTOL SELF-LOADING 455 MARK I N”, dated 1913. WHEN DONALD TRUMP won the 2016 presidential election, many gun owners breathed a sigh of relief. With Republicans controlling both houses of Congress and President Trump in the White House, many of us expected that proactive legislation including the Hearing Protection Act (HPA) would pass into law. If passed, the HPA would have removed sound suppressors from the purview of the National Firearms Act (NFA) and would replace the months-long waiting period with a simple background check.
