SCOPED MODEL 67? I have a Winchester Model 67 in .22 caliber. It’s more than 60 years old and shoots great! I would like to put a scope on it, but I’m afraid that ejected cases might damage the optic. Do you have any suggestions? EVERY SO OFTEN I stumble across someone on social media ranting against keeping a gun in your vehicle. “A truck is not a holster!” is the usual mantra. WE EMBARKED ON A JOURNEY to examine and evaluate four World War II bolt-action sniper rifles using issued ammunition or handloads made to period specifications. Much ink has been spilled on the history and details of each configuration, beginning with the March 2025 issue through the June 2025 issue of Guns & Ammo. Through our research, we have learned that little material exists that document how these rifles performed in combat using the ammunition that was available to soldiers. A few contemporary memoirs of snipers give some insight into the performance, but they don’t precisely describe how accurate or effective these rifles were. NOT LONG AGO, Colorado was a great state for gun ownership. Its wide-open spaces and beautiful weather made it a hub for competitive and recreational shooting. For hunters, it was a paradise. Then “Colorful Colorado” turned blue. With its population growth fed by an influx of West Coast voters, Colorado effectively became a reliably Democratic state in 2008. The last remaining statewide elected Republican, Senator Cory Gardner, lost his seat in 2020. When it came to gun control, the Colorado pendulum swung fast. @GUNSANDAMMOMAG THIS CAREER has afforded many opportunities for me to turkey hunt. What kind of crimp is best, and how much pressure should be applied? Crimping plays a role in the performance, safety and reliability of ammunition. There are different reasons for crimping based on the type of ammunition and the platform it is fired from. There are several types of crimps that can be used. AUTO PISTOL CARTRIDGES Automatic pistol cartridges are mostly straight-walled with small-to-modest case capacity and use fairly fast-burning propellants. I am the lucky owner of a Single Action Army (SAA) Peacemaker revolver, .41 caliber, built by Colt in 1886. The serial number is 118XXX. The handgun is definitely an original.
