The mantle of stoytelling has traditionally been borne by peripatetic folk artists, across centuries and the world. In an age when the Internet has consumed our senses, and reduced our attention span to sit through a good tale, the Gauri Dancers of Mewar, Rajasthan, have continued their centuries-old performance art tradition. For the first-time ever, the entire series of the dancers’ studio portraits are being displayed at Galerie At Museo, photographed by Udaipur-based artist Waswo X.
