THERE’S SOMETHING unmistakably modern about a Valentino dress. At the house’s Spring 2016 couture shows, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Isadora Duncan plissés and Mariano Fortuny Delphos gowns floated down the runway on barefoot models with gold snakes in their hair, as though from another world.
