In 1969, Italian jewelry designer Aldo Cipullo, then working at Cartier, created what has become one of the French house’s most iconic styles: the Love bracelet. Comprising two golden arcs that screw together in a symbol of undying commitment, the piece has since been reinterpreted in numerous variations, the latest of which is a sleek gold necklace (screwdriver still included).
Coinciding with its arrival, Cipullo: Making Jewelry Modern chronicles the innovative designer’s rise and includes images of his most striking creations for Cartier, David Webb, Tiffany & Co., and, later, his namesake label, as well as anecdotes from and photos of Cipullo’s family and friends. Cartier Love bracelet, $6,550. Cartier Love necklace, $13,800. 800-CARTIER. Cipullo: Making Jewelry Modern, published by Assouline, $195. assouline.com.…
