Combining modern luxury with traditional architectural heritage is no easy feat, but The Capella’s latest addition to its hospitality projects in Shanghai – the Jian Ye Li estate – meets both requirements, and does so in an extremely stylish way.
Designed by interior design company Blink, which specialises in designing luxury hotels worldwide, The Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li sits in what used to be three-storey, brick and stone-accented townhouses on a sprawling plot of land that stretches over 46,000sqf.
With the facade carefully restored and preserved, the building now houses facilities that include 55 villas ranging from one- to three-bedroom suites, a spa, gym, pool and a restaurant and bar by Michelin-star chef Pierre Gagnaire.
