Touring this family home in Bedok, you wouldn’t guess that the family of four, which includes daughters aged eight and four, has been living there for almost a year. When the Lees were looking for a new home, they viewed a variety of units in different locations before finding one that both their feng shui master and designer Aloysius Ganiel, creative director at Parallelogram Design, okayed. Aloysius, who designed the family’s former home, knew right away how to turn the 30-year-old flat into a space that would meet their lifestyle and aesthetic tastes, as well as their feng shui requirements. In Singapore, over half a million chopsticks get used every day, and they are an excellent, underutilised raw material. ChopValue, founded by Felix Bock in 2016 in Vancouver, is the world’s first circular economy brand that designs and manufactures products entirely from recycled chopsticks harvested from urban environments. It was brought to Singapore in March this year by entrepreneur Evelyn Hew.
