Designed by its homeowners, both of whom are in their late-20s, the home trades ornamentation for intentional imperfection, drawing from brutalist cues and wabisabi restraint. It began with excavation: during renovation, a part of a wall from the first bedroom was hacked and peeled back to reveal the raw wall beneath, now left exposed in its naturally uneven state. When Cedrick Law, senior designer at E+e Design and Build, purchased this four-room resale flat in Bedok North, he knew it would require a full overhaul.
