This Hawkes Bay bach has a great location at Waimarama Beach but the previous kitchen was hugely dated, with 1960s cabinetry. As part of the renovation to the whole bach, the owners wanted a kitchen that was a mixture of both traditional and Scandinavian styles with the inclusion of concrete benchtops. Durability was also a top priority, with easy-to-care-for products essential for the holiday home. The inclusion of an island benchtop has created a perfect casual dining area for both kids and adults. When we first came across Rowena Martinich’s and Geoffrey Carran’s work, we were completely awestruck.
