In London’s Kensington, an old home had fallen into a state of disrepair. From a roof that needed replacing to a plumbing and electrics scheme that required updating, as well as damp ingress, it was clear that major work needed to be done. Yet this modern update isn’t the first large-scale renovation the building had undergone. Set inside a new extension of a heritage house, the light and airy space is worlds away from the home’s original kitchen. Aiming to brighten and modernise the heart of their beautiful dwelling, the homeowners approached Rochet Kitchens for a renovation. They were keen to remove walls to alter the existing footprint, update their previous high-backed benchtop with a large island bench, and completely overhaul their existing laundry space. They provide the littlest member of the family — Max the Frug (a French Bulldog-Pug mix) — with places to explore and shady spots to snooze in.
