Going to Hamamatsu, Japan, to ride the new Yamaha motorcycles in 1975, because I was the only one on the staff with a motorcycle endorsement. That led to a lot of bike testing over the years.
Having access to the Petersen suite in Turn 2 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the 500 every year was not a bad perk. Dick Day had a special Halliburton camera case fitted with a blender and all the ingredients for margaritas at Indy.
