If you’re a hot rodder, then you need a pickup. I mean, you’ve gotta have a parts hauler for your hotty, don’t you? But what if you own a hauler that’s also a hotty? I do, and so does Danny Shaffer, a transportation-company owner from Bakersfield, California. It’s like having your kemp and eating it, too. Better yet, our hotty haulers have a number of things in common. Both are Ford pickups, both are powered by Chevys, and both are painted Freuhauf Yellow … but that’s where the similarities end. Mine’s just an old drag racer, while Danny’s ’56 F-100 “big window” could well be the finest example of low-down, pickup truckin’ in the country.
