Clearly, this Connecticut home is feeling blue—in a good way. Was the all-blue palette your idea? BROOKE CREW: I can’t take the credit. In the beginning, this client liked only blue—and I mean only. In fact, I kept trying to add other colors, but there was resistance. So I finally went along, but pumped up the tension with pattern and texture. It’s in upstate New York, adjacent to a historic garden and a cottage from the early part of the 20th century, and it’s really one big, fantastic room.
