One of the fastest growing sectors, it is highly export oriented and labour intensive. Students learn about material behaviour, filing, piercing, forging, soldering wax modelling, enamelling, casting, stone setting, polishing and finishing. The study teaches them basic skills such as stone cutting, engraving, and testing the quality of precious metals and gems. Special skills like electroplating, metal colouring, anodising, enamelling and stone setting are also taught.
