ALTHOUGH TV AND print news had been full of stories about the Baltimore Colts slinking off in the night to their new Indianapolis home, when it happened, many in Indy found it hard to believe that their wishes had come true: We had a pro football team at long last. The city gave a raucous reception to the star athletes in its brand-new stadium, proudly named the Hoosier Dome. FIFTEEN YEARS AGO, Robert Andrews filled out more than a dozen college applications and just as many essays, all in longhand. “As a first-generation college-bound student, I had no clue what I was doing,” he recounts. During one episode of local rapper Sean “Oreo” Jones’s music-meets-food You-Tube show, Let’s Do Lunch, Jones accidentally mashed up the words “Cheers” and “Peace” while making a toast. Later that year, the Warsaw, Indiana, native decided to start a homegrown hip-hop festival, and the term he’d coined stuck. “It’s fitting,” Jones says. “The title breaks down stereotypes. THANK YOU! The 33rd annual Zoobilation, presented by Indianapolis Power & Light Company on June 14, 2019, was an evening to remember!
