The renovation began in February 2023 and was completed in August of that year. Designers don’t often have themselves as a client. Powder rooms are unique spaces. Unlike other, more function-focused, bathrooms, guest loos can be wonderfully indulgent. Case in point is this stunning bathroom by Sydney’s Naz Design in collaboration with Nadine K Design and Scopeview Projects. TWILIGHT ZONE When reconfiguring the bathroom of this two-bedroom apartment in Victoria, interior designer Rebecca Jansma extended the previously dim room to include the clients’ must-haves: a generous open shower and soaking tub, with space to spare. Landscape designer Adam Robinson describes this captivating courtyard in Sydney’s east as “the warm face of minimalism”. Packed with striking paradoxes, his recent project is streamlined and elegant, simple and ornate, modern and traditional, all at the same time. To many, merino wool seems oh-so-Australian, but it’s taken the creativity and nous of a New York marketing specialist to create world-first superfine merino sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers. Canadian-born Indi McCullough says the idea for luxe merino-wool bed linen first popped up while she was shopping in New York. “I was looking for linen at Bloomingdales with my husband [Stuart McCullough, former MD of The Woolmark Company] and he said, ‘It’s interesting that Americans don’t sleep surrounded by wool.’ I immediately baulked at that as I thought of wool heritage blanket brands that are itchy, scratchy and too hot.
