Pouring a warm, comforting beverage, settling into my favorite spot on the couch, and knitting a few rows before starting the day has been my morning ritual for the past decade or so. Binding off is one of the first skills you acquired when you learned to knit. You probably learned the standard chain bind-off, and it has probably served you well for many projects. But brioche knitting produces an unusual fabric. It is lofty, it is often a bit loose, and it tends to have significant lateral spread compared with simple stockinette or garter stitch.
