Java is the original edition of Minecraft and you can only rock it on PC. Bedrock is newer on the block, and available on PC, consoles, phones, and tablets. If you play on PlayStation or have a soft spot for survival on Switch, you’re playing on Bedrock. One version isn’t better than the other, and Mojang (Minecraft’s dev) supports both of ‘em!
MASSIVE FOR MODS
Mods let you completely change Minecraft, adding new mobs, biomes, structures, abilities, looks, challenges, and so much more. On Java, there’s an infinite array of free mods, but the set-up can be a bit tricky, so you might need a tech-savvy adult to help.
