Saul Williams and Anisia Uzeyman's debut film, Neptune Frost, is an AfroFuturist sci-fi musical with a serious message. It questions the true cost of the West's continuous drive for 'progress' on the people – in Africa and elsewhere – tasked with fuelling these demands through the mining and production of some of the Earth's most valuable, and increasingly rare, natural resources. CULTURE Artist Yermine Richardson’s work is informed by the beauty and culture of his Dominican Republican homeland, and laced with undertones of the Caribbean island’s chequered history at the hands of European colonists.
