An American man has completed a run similar to that featured in the 1994 movie, Forrest Gump. Barclay Oudersluys had already completed triathlons and ultra-marathons, but, took his fitness to the next level by deciding to run across America in 100 days, saying, “I decided if Forrest Gump could run across the country, I could do it too” Running from the Santa Monica Pier in California to the Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde in Maine, Oudersluys retains a daily pace of between 48 to 53 kilometres and plans to raise $10,000 for the Hall Steps Foundation, a charity that fights global poverty.The 23-year-old runner sometimes stays with friends or sleeps in a van and revealed, “I’ve had a lot of dogs come run with me… I don’t know how…

An Australian teenager has taken out the Rubik’s Cube World Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Feliks Zemdegs completed the three by three by three Rubik’s Cube challenge in an average of 7.56 seconds with his best score of 5.695 seconds and just missed the current world record of 5.25 seconds held by American, Colin Burns. Zemdegs said, “The venue was really nice, all the people were really nice….The win was also really nice as well. Because I won last time, I was less nervous this time.” The biennial Rubik’s Cube World Championship includes 17 different competitions with players timed to determine who can complete the puzzle the fastest.
